Transition to Mac NOT going as well as had expected
I hope this attempted transition to MAC doesn’t end in tragedy, but it looks like its heading that way fast…
- MS Excel 2008 maxes processor
- Cannot drag and drop files into Dreamweaver file manger
- Lack of any “finder” based SVN client (e.g. such as tortoise SVN)
- Lack of blogging software that holds a candle to MS Live Writer (come on! this is a Microsoft product)
- MAC Skype client doesn’t support multi video
- Have to pay for a lot of programs I got via open source before.
Yes there are some things I like, but I’m afraid that this list is only going to continue to grow.

For blogging, check out marsedit.
Wait for Office 2011 (or check out neo office or open office or even google docs – I don't like Microsoft Office on either OS)
There are good open source programs for the mac too, just need to find them.

RE office — give numbers a try. I hate pages, but numbers and keynote are both very good. The UI takes a little bit to get used to, but it's fine once its going.
RE Skype — have you tried iChat? Skype really is more windows facing software. The iChat cilent is quite good, and has probably done a lot to inhibit the featureset of skype on a mac. As long as you are talking to aim or jabber users, you should be fine.

Well, I should let you all know that I made it past that momentary crisis I was having about sending the MAC back and am now growing more comfortable with its functionality every day. Turns out I was having just as many problems on the PC when I went back to try to do some things on that machine. That assured me that the problem I was having that day wasn't a computer problem, but a problem problem
